Hawaiian Tropic® has approximately 300 preliminary events nationwide. Many of these preliminaries culminate with a state or regional finals, while others send their winner directly to the United States Finals in the Fall. MISS HAWAIIAN TROPIC® INTERNATIONAL UNITED STATES The Miss Hawaiian Tropic® International United States Competition is held in the Fall of every year. Over 150 young ladies from across the United States compete for four finalists' positions. These four finalists represent the United States in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic® International Competition in the Spring of the following year. Past and future locations for the United States Competition include Norwegian Cruise Line's SS Norway*, Nassau, Bahamas, Quebec, Canada and the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii and Las Vegas, NV. *Ship's registry: Bahamas MISS HAWAIIAN TROPIC® INTERNATIONAL The Miss Hawaiian Tropic® International Competition is usually held in the Spring of each year. Over 80 young ladies representing over 50 countries compete for the title of "Miss Hawaiian Tropic® International." All contestants competing in the Miss Hawaiian Tropic® International System have the opportunity to win up to $1,000,000 in cash, trips, prizes and modeling contracts from Hawaiian Tropic® and its national sponsors. MISS HAWAIIAN TROPIC® INTERNATIONAL SYSTEM HISTORY The Miss Hawaiian Tropic® International Competition is the largest model search in the world and the most extensive promotion for Hawaiian Tropic® Suncare Products. Initially, there is a Miss Hawaiian Tropic® International United States Competition held in the Fall culminating with the Miss Hawaiian Tropic® International Competition held in the Spring. This annual global search for the most beautiful young ladies who will represent Hawaiian Tropic® Suncare Products not only covers the United States but over 50 countries as well. Each year over 20,000 young ladies compete in Hawaiian Tropic® local, regional, national and international competitions. Radio, print, and media publicity have been extensive worldwide. Celebrities who have participated as judges or special guests in our competitions include: NBA Superstar, Shaquille O'Neal; the two 1992 Superbowl quarterbacks, Jim Kelly of the Buffalo Bills and Troy Aikman of the Dallas Cowboys; Celtics Superstar John Havlicek; former Head Basketball Coach of UNLV, Jerry "Tark the Shark" Tarkanian; radio personality Wolfman Jack; the Founder and Chairman of the Board for the world's largest and most powerful modeling agency, "Elite", John Casablancas; Academy Award Nominee, Gary Busey; actors Benny Hill, David Keith, Ed Begley, Jr., Charles Napier and Dick VanPatten; singer Julio Iglesias; actor and MTV host Pauly Shore; actor/comedian Rodney Dangerfield and the Italian model/actor, Fabio.
